This is my 1st and 2nd tattoo! I got my first (the writing) at Motor City in Oshawa Ontario, and it was a good first tattoo experience. The guy was super chill and understanding of why I got the tattoo. The lyric I forgive you’ is from the song ‘For Blue Skies’ by Strays Never Sleep. It is from the last verse of the song: Could I have saved you? Would that have betrayed you? I want to burn this film; you alone with those pills. what you couldn’t do I will…I forgive you.” I think knowing that the story behind it is pretty self explanatory. The butterflies I got almost 7 months after the first at Mom’s Tattoo in Waterloo, Ontario. I asked for four sketch-looking butterflies flying away, and that’s exactly what he gave me. The reason I got these so close to my first tattoo is that I got them for the butterfly project. For the butterfly project, anyone who feels depressed draws a butterfly on their wrist and name it after someone they care for. If they cut, they kill the butterfly. I got one butterfly for each person in my family; my mom, my dad and my brother. They help me every time I feel compelled to cut myself and stop me from “killing the butterflies”, so to speak. Although they may be awkward for me to explain to passersby on a daily basis, I wouldn’t trade them for any other tattoo in the world or get them removed. They are my anchor to improving myself.
